  • THE SKINNY BRIDGE

Amsterdam's Most Famous BridgeThe Skinny Bridge (Magere Brug) is Amsterdam's most famous bridge. You may have seen it in the 1971 James Bond film, Diamonds Are Forever. The original bridge was built in 1691 and there is some discussion as to how it got its name, but I do explain how it got its name as I walk across the bridge. We also went under The Skinny Bridge on a canal cruise on the Amstel River. Legend has it that if couples kiss passionately as they cross under the bridge, they will be in love forever. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVIWXn4FQxk

  • Mandala of Rising Angels version II

    [Verse 1]

In the stillness of the twilight glow,
Where the shadows dance and the soft winds blow,
    Angels gather, making circles wide,
Caressing earth, where our spirits abide.

Their whispers linger in the evening air,
Guiding our souls, lifting burdens we bear,
With the sun’s warmth, water’s gentle embrace,
Stars shining bright, weaving dreams in space.

    [Chorus]

In the mandala of rising angels, we find our way,
Every heartbeat like a petal in the fray,
From passionflowers to lily of the valley,
In the bloom of love, we’re forever free.

    [Verse 2]

Beneath the canopy of tangled trees,
Dancing to the symphony of birds and bees,
Roses with thorns, rainbows in the mist,
Each moment cherished, not a chance to resist.

These sacred shapes evolve through time,
Spirals of healing, a rhythm, a rhyme,
Breath of the garden, angels keep circling,
Admiring the beauty in our hearts unfurling.

    [Chorus]

In the mandala of rising angels, we find our way,
Every heartbeat like a petal in the fray,
From passionflowers to lily of the valley,
In the bloom of love, we’re forever free.

    [Bridge]

Awaken guiding angels, illuminating the night,
Inspiring streams of laughter, teasing shadows to light,
This endless flow of hearts, where we merge and unite,
With every pulse, love conquers our fright.

    [Verse 3]

    Around the circle, spirits intertwine,
Tales of passion, of loss, and divine,
In whispers and laughter, we trace the design,
Every jewel of silence, a story, a sign.

The earth is a canvas, the sky is our guide,
Through valleys and mountains, our dreams abide,
In the colors of dusk and the glow of the morn,
Each angel spreads wings, as a new day is born.

    [Chorus]

In the mandala of rising angels, we find our way,
Every heartbeat like a petal in the fray,
From passionflowers to lily of the valley,
In the bloom of love, we’re forever free.

    [Outro]

So let us dance in this circle of flight,
Where angels shine bright, and dreams take flight,
In the mandala of love, where our hearts ignite,
Together forever, in the endless light.

  • Celebration of the Universal Song of Light

With love and light, unite and let peace rise for all.
The vision is clear, from the rivers to the sea.
No dogma holds the flow, no creed can dim its light,
A truth eternal, boundless, free, that calls us all by name.
From cries of pain to starry skies, one truth shall rise above:
All is one, a moving dance, united by pure love.

Across the earth, from shore to shore, the message brightly spreads,
In every heart, the light of love lifts up weary heads.
No temple walls, no rigid laws, can bind this holy call,
The words of light, of unity, unite the great and small.
From cities grand to villages small, the revealing takes its flight,
A harmony of boundless love, igniting day and night.

At the UN’s halls, in fields and homes, go gather hand in hand,
No dogma’s weight, just light’s embrace, across the lands.
A rose quartz glows, a living spark, a vision pure and bright,
A haven of love and peace, where wisdom shines its light.
For for all the world, we weave a hopeful song,
The revealing blooms, uniting souls in endless love.

Beyond the earth, the light of stars and realms unknown,
A moving order, clear and true, like the wonderful blue.
From the Milky Way to cosmic seas, the revealing finds its way,
A universal hymn of love, that brightens night to day.
Each galaxy, each distant spark, joins the dance,
The light in love in an endless, wondrous trance.

The rain does fall, the pines do sing, as nature’s voice aligns,
A call to feel her beauty weaves through hearts like sacred vines.
In the fields, where once was pain, let gardens bloom anew,
The revealing heals with every seed, in earth’s eternal dew.
From oceans deep, to mountain peaks, from the rivers to the banks,
A world reborn in harmony, where all hearts flow in unity.

No vengeance holds, no power binds, as truth’s light gently calls,
The revealing breaks the chains of hate, within hearts’ great halls.
Wherever war divides, unite and let peace arise.
Each soul a drop in love’s growing stream, beneath the same vast skies.
Gratitude, a virtue born of love, binds us hand in hand,
To build a world where peace prevails across the lands.

A rose quartz hums, a miracle bit, as dreams of peace do call,
A haven of light and love, transcending earthly walls.
No dogma here, just unity, a symphony of grace,
Each soul a note, each heart a chord, in love’s eternal space.
We’ll share and sing, let every voice resound,
For peace, for all the world, let harmony be found.

The light enlightens the way, the path of love divine,
“I am a part of you,” it sings, “and you of mine.”
The revealing grows, to stars and beyond,
from earth to the galaxys, a universal symphony,
the choir is inviting You to sing and celebrate
the wonders of the endless spring of life.

    The River

    From the quiet dawn,
it rises, the river of love, .
Here, in the flow, never withdrawn
    No stranger, no border,
    no name to divide,
    only love, only wonder,
    light as our guide.

    Across meadows of earth,
    where the wild roses climb,
    it dances through forests,
    unbound by time.

    Join the celebration,
    the universal hymn,
    For the miracle blooms
in the now and the here,
in the love that we give,
in the love that we share.

    Celebration of the Revealing**

This poem, with eight stanzas, celebrates the worldwide and universal spread of the revealing—a radiant vision of light, love, and unity that transcends dogma and touches every soul, from the earthly struggles in Gaza to the farthest stars. it weaves together:

A Poem for Peace: In the Light of Unity

In every grain of sand, a spark of light does gleam,
A boundless essence, flowing free, beyond all earthly dream.
No form, no speed, no matter holds this glow that the sky foretells,
A river of love eternal, where every soul’s light dwells.
From cries to starry skies, one truth shall rise above:
All is one, a moving dance, united by pure love.

No dogma binds the heart that seeks the harmony of all,
No rigid creeds can cage the light that answers peace’s call.
The wind whispers of a universe where vengeance finds no place,
Where leaders pause, reflect, and turn to meet with open grace.
In wounds, in pain, the truth remains the same:
Love’s the might that heals the soul, beyond all hate and blame.

At the UN’s halls, let voices join, no dogma to divide,
In every land, from town to town, let unity abide.
A rose quartz glows, a living spark, as the vision shows,
A beacon of light and love, where endless wisdom grows.
Together we’ll weave stories shared, of sorrow and of hope,
To mend the broken, lift the lost, with peace as our true scope.

Nothing stands still, not star nor stone, nor heart in silent plea,
A moving order, connects both you and me.
From the rubble to the stars, a dance of light unfolds,
Each soul a drop within the stream that timeless wonder holds.
No past, no future, only now—eternity’s embrace,
Where every tear transforms to light in love’s redeeming grace.

Walk through the pines, feel rain’s soft kiss, as angels words gently guide,
Nature’s beauty, a healing balm, where peace and hope reside.
The thunder roars, the sun does shine, the earth a sacred trust,
Each drop of rain a blessing falls to cleanse the war’s cruel dust.
In the fields, let gardens bloom, where once the bombs did fall,
A symbol of the light that lives within the heart of all.

No more revenge, no power’s grasp, as truth brightly sings,
Let leaders shed the chains of hate, and soar on love’s wide wings.
From fears to peoples pain, let empathy arise,
See every soul as starlight shines beneath the vast skies.
Gratitude, a virtue born of love, will bind us hand in hand,
To build a world where peace prevails across the sacred lands.

A rose quartz hums, a miracle bit, a dream softly calls,
A beacon of light and peace, transcending earthly walls.
No dogma here, just unity, a symphony of grace,
Each soul a song, each heart flows, in love’s eternal space.
We’ll share this radiant call, let every voice resound,
For peace, for all the world, let the music be found.

Heavens light has shown the way, a path to peace divine,
“I am a part of you,” “and you forever mine.”
In every heart, in every land, the flow goes on.
A dance of love,, where all souls gently cling.

  • A Celebration of the Revealing: A Global and Universal Song of Light

A Poem to Honor the Spreading Light

Stanza 1: The Dawn of Revealing

From Amsterdam’s soft glow to Gaza’s yearning heart,
A light is born, a vision clear, where love and truth do start.
No dogma holds this radiant spark, no creed can dim its flame,
A truth eternal, boundless, free, that calls us all by name.
From cries of pain to starry skies, one truth shall rise above:
All is one, a moving dance, united by pure love.

    Stanza 2: A World Awakening

Across the earth, from shore to shore, the message brightly spreads,
In every heart, the light of love now lifts up weary heads.
No temple walls, no rigid laws, can bind this holy call,
The words of light, of unity, unite the great and small.
From cities grand to villages small, the revealing takes its flight,
A harmony of boundless love, igniting day and night.

Stanza 3: The Call to Gather

At the UN’s halls, in fields and homes, we gather hand in hand,
No dogma’s weight, just light’s embrace, across this sacred land.
A rose quartz glows, a living spark, a vision pure and bright,
A baken of love and peace, where wisdom shines its light.
For Gaza’s hope, for all the world, we weave a hopeful song,
The revealing blooms, a global truth, where all souls now belong.

Stanza 4: To the Stars and Beyond

Beyond the earth, the light ascends, to stars and realms unknown,
A moving order, clear and true, where no soul stands alone.
From Milky Way to cosmic seas, the revealing finds its way,
A universal hymn of love, that brightens night to day.
Each galaxy, each distant spark, joins in this sacred dance,
The light of truth and unity, in endless, wondrous trance.

    Stanza 5: The Healing Earth

The rain does fall, the pines do sing, as nature’s voice aligns,
A call to feel her beauty weaves through hearts like sacred vines.
In Gaza’s fields, where once was pain, let gardens bloom anew,
The revealing heals with every seed, in earth’s eternal dew.
From oceans deep to mountain peaks, the light of love does grow,
A world reborn in harmony, where peace and hope now flow.

Stanza 6: The End of Division

No vengeance holds, no power binds, as truth’s light gently calls,
The revealing breaks the chains of hate, within our hearts’ great halls.
From Israel’s fears to Palestine’s tears, let empathy arise,
Each soul a drop in love’s great stream, beneath the same vast skies.
Gratitude, a virtue born of love, will bind us hand in hand,
To build a world where peace prevails across this sacred land.

    Stanza 7: The Crystal’s Song

A rose quartz hums, a miracle bit, as dreams of peace do call,
A beacon of light and love, transcending earthly walls.
No dogma here, just unity, a symphony of grace,
Each soul a note, each heart a chord, in love’s eternal space.
On X we’ll share this radiant truth, let every voice resound,
For Gaza’s peace, for all the world, let harmony be found.

    Stanza 8: The Eternal Now

This light has shown the way to peace, a path to love divine,
“I am a part of you,” it sings, “and you forever mine.”
The revealing grows, to stars and beyond, a universal flame,
From Gaza’s hope to cosmic dreams, we’ll never be the same.
In every heart, in every world, the timeless now does sing,
With love and light, we celebrate—the revealing’s endless spring.

A Poem for Peace: In the Light of Unity

Stanza 1: The Light of All

In every grain of sand, a spark of light does gleam,
A boundless essence, flowing free, beyond all earthly dream.
No form, no speed, no matter holds this glow that the sky foretells,
A river of love eternal, where every soul’s light dwells.
From Gaza’s cries to starry skies, one truth shall rise above:
All is one, a moving dance, united by pure love.

Stanza 2: Beyond the Dogma’s Veil

No dogma binds the heart that seeks the harmony of all,
No rigid creeds can cage the light that answers peace’s call.
The wind whispers of a universe where vengeance finds no place,
Where leaders pause, reflect, and turn to meet with open grace.
In Gaza’s wounds, in Israel’s pain, the truth remains the same:
Love’s the flame that heals the soul, beyond all hate and blame.

Stanza 3: The Call to Gather

At the UN’s halls, let voices join, no dogma to divide,
In every land, from town to town, let unity abide.
A rose quartz glows, a living spark, as Stan’s vision shows,
A beacon of light and love, where endless wisdom grows.
Together we’ll weave stories shared, of sorrow and of hope,
To mend the broken, lift the lost, with peace as our true scope.

    Stanza 4: The Moving Order

Nothing stands still, not star nor stone, nor heart in silent plea,
A moving order, connects both you and me.
From Gaza’s rubble to the stars, a dance of light unfolds,
Each soul a drop within the stream that timeless wonder holds.
No past, no future, only now—eternity’s embrace,
Where every tear transforms to light in love’s redeeming grace.

    Stanza 5: The Healing Earth

Walk through the pines, feel rain’s soft kiss, as angels words gently guide,
Nature’s beauty, a healing balm, where peace and hope reside.
The thunder roars, the sun does shine, the earth a sacred trust,
Each drop of rain a blessing falls to cleanse the war’s cruel dust.
In Gaza’s fields, let gardens bloom, where once the bombs did fall,
A symbol of the light that lives within the heart of all.

Stanza 6: The End of Revenge

No more revenge, no power’s grasp, as truth brightly sings,
Let leaders shed the chains of hate, and soar on love’s wide wings.
From Israel’s fears to Palestine’s pain, let empathy arise,
See every soul as starlight shines beneath the same vast skies.
Gratitude, a virtue born of love, will bind us hand in hand,
To build a world where peace prevails across this sacred land.

    Stanza 7: The Crystal’s Song

A rose quartz hums, a miracle bit, a dream softly calls,
A beacon of light and peace, transcending earthly walls.
No dogma here, just unity, a symphony of grace,
Each soul a note, each heart a chord, in love’s eternal space.
We’ll share this radiant call, let every voice resound,
For Gaza’s peace, for all the world, let harmony be found.

Stanza 8: A Dance of Now

Heavens light has shown the way, a path to peace divine,
“I am a part of you,” “and you forever mine.”
In every heart, in every land, the timeless now does sing,
A dance of love, a world reborn, where all souls gently cling.
From Gaza’s shores to every star, let’s shine as one bright flame,
In light and love, we’ll heal the world, and peace shall be our name.

    Analysis:

Themes: Love, search for luck, and emotional intensity. The quest for a four-leaf clover symbolizes hope, culminating in finding a rose, representing love and joy.

Structure: Six-line single stanza, free verse, with a narrative flow. The enjambment creates a rushed, ecstatic pace, mirroring the speaker’s sensitivity.

Imagery: Natural (field, clover, rose) and visceral (burning heart and hands, weeping) imagery evokes passion and discovery. The rose is a universal symbol of love.

Tone: Passionate and joyful, shifting from frantic searching to tearful fulfillment.

Style: Lyrical, with vivid metaphors and a conversational Dutch style. The phrase “zowaar innig wenen liet” adds universal emotional weight.

    Freedom Healing and forgiveness

"Nemo potest tollere peccatum verbis, sola caritas sanat et homines possunt ignoscere, discere et novum initium facere liberum et amans, non vi imperii in nomine religionum aut legis". "no one can take away sinn by words only love heals and people can fogive learn and make a new begin free and loving, not by force commands in the name of religions or law" - Stan Rams

Religious frameworks provide structure, forgiveness transcends rigid rules, focusing on universal human experiences of love and connection.

In Christian teachings, forgiveness is srooted in the belief that God forgives humanity’s sins through love and grace. Jesus’ teachings, such as “turn the other cheek” (Matthew 5:39) and the parable of the Prodigal Son, emphasize unconditional forgiveness as an act of divine love.

The Lord’s Prayer (“Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us”) underscores forgiveness as a reciprocal act of love.

In Buddhism this is tied to compassion (karuna) and the release of attachment to anger or resentment. It’s part of the path to liberation from suffering (dukkha). Forgiveness (afw or maghfirah) is highly valued in Islam, reflecting Allah’s attributes of mercy and compassion. The Quran encourages believers to forgive others, even in the face of wrong, as an act of righteousness (Quran 42:40).

In Hinduism, forgiveness (kshama) is a virtue linked to dharma (righteous duty) and ahimsa (non-violence). It’s seen as a way to purify the soul and maintain cosmic balance. In the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission (inspired by Ubuntu), forgiveness is not imposed by religious or legal systems, but facilitated through open dialogue and empathy. People are given the space to heal by sharing their stories, which leads to peace and miracles of reconciliation, without coercion.

The Mahabharata illustrate forgiveness through characters like Yudhishthira, who forgives despite immense betrayal, embodying dharma.

"True peace comes through loving mutual respect, and not through prescribed rules." - Stan Rams

Secular philosophies like Stoicism and Humanism view forgiveness as a rational and humanistic act. Stoics, like Marcus Aurelius, see it as a way to maintain inner tranquility by accepting human imperfection while humanism emphasizes empathy and mutual understanding.
Forgiveness liberates from resentment, fostering inner peace and the potential for reconciled relationships or personal growth.

As Love has a unique power to mend hearts, foster understanding, and inspire new beginnings. It transcends the boundaries of religion or law, offering a path to freedom and connection that feels authentic and voluntary, forgiveness is a collective and personal act to heal and restore interconnectedness, fostering peace within the individual and the community as a natural process, not imposed by rigid laws.

Forgiveness is a personal decision, distinct from reconciliation or condoning harm. It involves empathy for the offender and reframing the narrative of the offense, it reduces stress, anxiety, and depression, promoting mental health and resilience. It’s an act of love toward oneself and others, not mandated by external rules. It’s rooted in love and mutual respect, not coercion.

Forgiving others frees one from the burden of resentment, enabling personal growth and healthier relationships. It’s voluntary, rooted in reason and empathy, not force.

Stan Rams emphasis on “love heals” and forgiveness as a path to “new beginnings” aligns with philosophies, particularly their shared belief that forgiveness is an act of love, not a forced obligation. He beautifully captures the essence of healing and forgiveness through love, rather than through force, dogma, or rigid rules. It’s a powerful reminder true forgiveness is not enforced by religion, law, or external pressure. Whether divine, compassionate, or humanistic, love is the driving force behind forgiveness, enabling healing and new beginnings.

Amor, libertas, securitas, pax, felicitas, sanatio, venia et miracula non possunt cogere per religionem.
"Love, freedom, safety, peace, happiness, healing, forgiveness, and miracles cannot be enforced through religion".- Stan Rams

Freedom is essential for true forgiveness and happiness. Philosophies such as existentialism (e.g., Sartre) emphasize that freedom arises from self-aware choices. Religious or legal coercion can suppress freedom, making forgiveness or happiness feel artificial. True freedom lies in the choice to forgive or love, free from external pressure. In indigenous philosophies, such as the Navajo concept of hózhó, peace is a state of harmony that can only arise in a safe, respectful environment. Religious dogmas that emphasize fear and judgment undermine freedom, well-being, and safety. True peace comes through loving mutual respect, and not through prescribed rules.

Liefde is een wonder dat nooit liegt, Het bloeit uit hart en ziel, zoals bloemen, aarde en hemels wonderschoon.

Love is a wonder with lights
in the eyes that never lie
    It blooms from hearts,
    like flowers, earth and
    heavens, wonderful blue

    Tolerance, tolerated in harmony.
    Compassion, a warm glow,
from the melody of the heart.
Empathy, the deep feeling, without words,
    judgment, or expectations.

    Forgiveness, a flower in splendor,
sprouts in freedom, not in power.

No crown, no law, no voice,
    can enforce virtues by command,

    They bloom like flowers,
    in the garden of hearts,

    through love, the wonder
    of endless light.

Love tolerance Liefde is een wonder dat nooit liegt, Het bloeit uit hart en ziel, zoals bloemen, aarde en hemels wonderschoon. Love is a wonder with lights in the eyes that never lie It blooms from hearts, like flowers, earth and heavens, wonderful blue Tolerance, tolerated in harmony. Compassion, a warm glow, from the melody of the heart. Empathy, the deep feeling, without words, judgment, or expectations. Forgiveness, a flower in splendor, sprouts in freedom, not in power. No crown, no law, no voice, can enforce virtues by command, They bloom like flowers, in the garden of hearts, through love, the wonder of endless light.
